Our neighbor was family ! Everyone looked out for you ! We could leave our doors unlocked and windows opened , never had to worry about it ! If you didn’t have , your neighbors shared what they had . My Mother never drove but someone would take her to the farmers market. She would bake something to pay them for taking her , they would never take money for gas. Good ole days for sure !
Joining the Bibb City community Facebook group has truly been a blessing. It's more than just a group; it’s a vibrant hub where we celebrate the history and legacy of our town. Each post evokes such warmth and connection, making everyone feel included. The shared experiences remind us how important our roots are, and it inspires us to keep those memories alive. From heartwarming stories to photographs from the past, it’s a delightful trip down memory lane. I encourage anyone with ties to Bibb City to join; you won’t regret being part of this wonderful community!
And I'm proud from where I got saved & baptized at 12 years old at Oates Ave Baptist Church & I had the pleasure of hearing Steve Stokes get on stage & sing the Gospel.

As far as I am know, there was never a better place to grow up regret being part of this wonderful community!
Bibb City and North Highland was my Mayberry - I loved living there! Our front door was never locked in summer; it stayed open. Granny would hook the screen door and we'd go to bed. Bibb School was more than just a school; it was a community, and I loved being a part of it. We spent many summer days at the pool or by the river at the Bibb pond. Bibb City lives in our hearts, minds, and dreams

My Mother worked at the Bibb Mill....my Dad worked at the Swift. I attended Bibb Elementary.... wonderful childhood. We were poor financially.....but ever so rich in love and a feeling of belonging.
